The National Account Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the day-to-day duties outlined below, as well as critically thinking of ways to optimize around existing and new business processes in a dynamic multi-channel environment. This role will also be responsible for analyzing information and making informed suggestions to management and solving complex problems by way of a balanced approach of contemplation and the decisive action necessary to stay ahead in a competitive and fast-moving industry. A successful candidate will have demonstrated success in a quantitative and data driven, sales-centric role.
Job Description
  • The responsibility focuses on growing omni sales, improving profit, optimizing operations & activating marketing initiatives.
  • Work with retail buyers to develop account specific plans that maximize sales, profit, merchandising, distribution, market share and support trade promotion management, forecasting, promotions, and trade settlements.
  • Conduct ongoing research to maintain an excellent knowledge of the major competitive product lines, including their features, benefits, and pricing, as well as their marketing and merchandising initiatives.
  • Monitor, manage, maintain, and grow business with existing accounts.
  • Establish and maintain a professional business relationship and rapport with all accounts.
  • Carefully research, assess, and analyze all potential accounts to determine the distribution, sales revenue, and profit gap potential.
  • Contact and manage the required levels of management within the assigned active or inactive accounts to schedule appointments and/or meetings to conduct capability presentations, present price- or solution-based business proposals, and negotiate product listings, volumes, promotions, pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve a satisfactory close of the sale.
  • Achieve and maintain a working knowledge of DHPs product line, services, marketing programs and strategies, product ordering, warehousing, and operations and logistics procedures, as well as any product return policies as they relate to the e-commerce channel.
  • Work effectively with and build productive rapport with DHPs internal marketing and cross-functional team members such as manufacturing, operations, supply chain, finance, accounting, customer service, and order entry.
  • Analyze data; interpret reports and information provided to identify new opportunities.
  • Forecast future sales and inventory demand in channel.
Skills & Experience

  • National / Key Account Experience Minimum 5 years calling on major furniture retailers such as Ashley Furniture, Nebraska Furniture Mart, Rooms To Go, and Raymour and Flanigan.
  • Must have a sense of urgency, be open to new ideas, be sales/client focused, set a high personal standards bar, understands no job is too big or too small, have a strong desire to succeed, be disciplined, seeks feedback and actively pursues ongoing personal development.
  • Strong analytical skills: proven track record of leveraging data to chart a course, influence others and drive change at multiple levels of an organization.
  • Solid track record of success
